Translation memory creation, manipulation and maintenance (Trados). Data manipulation and transfer from Oracle to Multiterm. Software Localization (using Workbench). Main Accomplishments
Created and edited several hundred terminological records, in English as well as French. Design and implementation of a problem and change reporting tool for Norterm, Nortel's terminology database, using FileMaker Pro. Wrote the specifications for the Oracle tool that was developed from that tool. Participated in a pilot project involving several computer-assisted translation tools (Logos, Systran, Trados). Using the Trados suite of computer-assisted translation tools, translated technical manuals pertaining to Nortel's DMS-10 and DMS-100 automatic switching equipment. Technical and terminological QA of other manuals in the same portfolio. DTP and correction of manuals in the same portfolio, using Interleaf on Unix and Windows platforms. Interleaf file management on Unix. HTML Editing and QA. Computer support. Nortel Network's Language Services were then
outsourced to Lionbridge Technologies.
